Job Description

Akkodis is hiring a HEDIS Coordinator to support one of our clients in the Healthcare Space!

Location: Remote (must be located within 50 miles of French Camp, CA)

Employment type: 5 month contract

Pay: $36/hr

This position is responsible for coordinating HEDIS and NCQA accreditation activities and ensuring that key quality initiatives and reporting requirements are completed on time. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams across the organization to meet accreditation standards through continuous review, audits, and monitoring. This position will also coordinate the completion and maintenance of all required reporting, documentation, readiness assessments, audits, and associated policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with Quality Improvement leadership to identify quality issues, analyze root causes, and help implement intervention plans.
  • Coordinate with internal teams such as Quality, Network Management, Case Management, and Member Services, as well as external provider contacts, to support outreach and compliance efforts.
  • Manage the timely collection, distribution, and submission of accreditation-related documents to auditors for NCQA and HEDIS activities.
  • Oversee medical record requests and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Schedule and coordinate educational sessions for providers and physicians based on quality findings.
  • Maintain and update the HEDIS and NCQA measures matrix, providing quarterly status updates.
  • Assist in implementing HEDIS project plans and monitoring timelines; escalate issues as needed.
  • Prepare HEDIS roadmap in collaboration with internal teams and submit for approval.
  • Schedule and coordinate staff for medical record review and data abstraction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HEDIS/NCQA vendors regarding data runs, chase logic, system issues, and report submissions.
  • Conduct immunization data abstraction and analysis during medical record reviews.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of HEDIS education and training for staff and providers.
  • Compile and distribute internal and external reports, ensuring timely review and approvals.
  • Coordinate the collection of documents and survey responses from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely analysis and reporting of required metrics according to the accreditation calendar.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of experience coordinating HEDIS processes and/or NCQA accreditation activities.
  • At least three years of administrative experience in a healthcare setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience in managed care or quality improvement strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of HEDIS and NCQA accreditation processes.
  • Basic knowledge of quality management and healthcare industry principles.
  • Familiarity with medical record review and abstraction.
  • Ability to interpret and apply written guidelines and perform data analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational, project coordination, and time management abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word (intermediate) and Excel (advanced); ability to type 50 WPM with 90% accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
