Description The Vice President of DoD/Air Force Capture is a senior leadership position within the company reporting to the SVP of Business Development & Global Sales.. This position will be primarily responsible for executing company growth strategies on strategic captures focused on unmanned, loitering munitions, and advanced manned/unmanned combined systems in the air domain. The candidate must possess detailed experience and knowledge in Air Force missions, acquisitions, policy, and funding. The position may lead and manage a team of Business Development capture staff and other resources to meet corporate growth objectives.
Responsibilities - Identify and capture new business opportunities within the Air Force organizations that are responsible for global strike, autonomous systems, ISR, and other critical missions.
- Understand customer, mission, budget, policy, emerging threats, and acquisition plans to determine corporate capture strategies and business development growth plans.
- Conduct, review and prioritize opportunity (pipeline) management (e.g. Gate Reviews synonymous with Shipley process), forecasts, and metrics.
- Contribute to proposing technology (requirements) and solution roadmaps and communicate with C-level executives, Program leadership, and other stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain relationships with senior US Government officials, industry partners, and internal and external key stakeholders to drive growth and collaboration.
- Lead and support required capture tasks for major government contracts, including bid and proposal development and competitive positioning
- Collaborate with BD resources and request investments as required to achieve financial targets.
- Build and optimize (internally) team productivity and processes to deliver products, services, and solutions that satisfy the needs of our customers.
- Drive innovation by integrating company technologies, advanced methodologies, and customer capabilities to enhance mission effectiveness
- Partner across other growth organizations of the company and participate in Marketing & Communications (MarCom) and GovOps activities such as conferences, discussions with customers, thought leaders and potential industry partnerships.
Job Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Engineering, National Security, Computer Science or National Security related) and/or advanced degree is a plus
- requires minimum 15 years of experience as a Business Development executive.
- Experience pursuing Air Force Programs of Record; 3) Proven strategic & creative thinker with senior leadership experience to successfully capture opportunities in a Defense & Technology company environment.
- Able to formulate and implement capture strategies with a mission-centric mindset to translating customer requirements to company provided solutions; 3) Successfully build and manage pipeline of opportunities across select markets.
- People leader with demonstrated success in leading and mentoring Business Development and Sales teams.
- Knowledge and relationships with Air Force customers on rapid acquisition programs.
- Understand unmanned systems market and competitive landscape of platforms & payloads across the air domain.
- Experience in project management skills such as conducting requirements analysis, capture resource allocation, deliverable tracking, schedule and financial monitoring, and reporting.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and oral communication skill.
- Experience in the procurement process from development of customer need statements, Requests for Information (RFIs), Request for Proposals (RFPs) and coordination of delivery schedules.
- Must possess active TS/SCI clearance with Secret, CI or FS Polygraph.
